Writer Biography
With over 30 years of corporate, government, and freelance writing experience, there are few writing projects I haven't tackled. As Public Relations Director for the Maryland Office of Tourism Development, I wrote promotional copy for destinations and events, press releases, radio spots, activity reports for the General Assembly, and action plans for projects. As Community Relations Director for the Upper Chesapeake Health System, I developed outreach programs and written material for the system's customers, staff, and the general public - press releases, home 'how-to's' for common health concerns, and speeches to explain the system's development plans.
As a freelance copy writer, I've written everything from a technical analysis of a dam collapse to profiles of a school for butlers. I've taught technical writing on the university level. I started out in radio/TV news working as a reporter, anchor, producer, and even did a stint as a country music DJ. This versatility keeps me thinking out of the box, to find the best approach for my clients' needs.
